Tania Eccleshall

I have painted professionally for nearly 30 years and taught art to adult learners for 10, so have a wide range of experience in many mediums and like to try out new products too! Of course my most favourite is Watercolour, and I use this to paint miniatures.  I can turn my hand to most subjects in miniature form – from a Bumble Bee to a Ship of the Line, although I am most inspired by the natural world.

My career began as an apprentice textile restorer in the field of Verdure Tapestries in Mayfair, London. I also learned how to restore antique painted clock dials, and re-gild ornate picture frames, moving on to the world of illuminating scrolls, heraldic pieces and memorials, which often required painting on goat skin.

I have been exhibiting solo since 2016, when I had an exhibition of 100 miniature watercolour paintings. It was very successful, selling 80 at the private view, which was a lovely surprise! I have shown my work at several Open Studios, all of the Mayfield Art Trails and  many annual exhibitions for my art group.

I have entered the annual South of England Agricultural Show art and craft competition and have won 6 times.
